Arlo Gagestein
Arlo is a lifelong athlete with a passion for challenging himself and others. He has dedicated over 20 years to helping others achieve their fitness and performance goals. He opened Competitive Edge Fitness in January 2005 and has since trained hundreds of successful athletes from high school to college to professionals and Olympic hopefuls.
In addition to training athletes over the years, Arlo is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, and has competed in grappling, indoor and beach volleyball, obstacle racing, highland games, and tennis.
Arlo is the host of the "Dabbling in Discomfort Podcast" and author of "Warrior Core - Core Training Secrets for the Modern Combat Athlete", "Battle Tested - How to Train Like Your Life Depends on it" and "Art of Lift-Jitsu: An Unconventional Approach to Extraordinary Strength". In addition to his books, Arlo has written for Jiu-Jitsu Magazine, Fight Camp Conditioning, Volleyball Performance Conditioning, and the National Strength and Conditioning Association's TSAC Report.
Arlo graduated from Weber State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Performance and also from Myotherapy College of Utah. He is an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Licensed Sports Massage Therapist, NSCA Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator, Certified Sports Injury Specialist and a Certified Core Training Specialist.
